Hey everybody, I've been working on my latest prop and wondered if anybody could offer me some advice on maximizing the UV space. So far this is what I have:

    You could split it down the center so it mirrors the same on both sides. You may only want to keep the face a unique piece, otherwise the body and wings could share the same space.

    Start with only working on half the model to unwrap. Be sure to keep intact any unique parts you want (like the face or if something that requires asymmetry).

    Collapse to poly, add a symmetry modifier then another Unwrap UVW. You'll find nothing really looks different, the symmetrical parts are stacked exactly on top.

    Thanks for the reply! I cut up the UV differently and I think it helped in packing the different pieces together
