Hey Valtyr! Thanks for the feedback! Will definitely start doing more face studies
Today I found a character design I really liked and did a bit of a study. I didn't really leave myself much time for this unfortunately, but it's something at least!
I isolated parts of him and did quick form sketches around him so that will explain some weirdness xD
I will do more of these, and spend more time on them.
Yup! One of my favourite art styles on the Japanese side of things.
Is it6 a good idea to basically copy pictures in this way? Or should I be taking a different approach entirely?
Nice to see you're still cranking it out over here. I dig your bridge town, and your figure drawing is definitely improving. I'll be trying my hand at zbrush pretty soon too.
Sorry for the lack of art lately guys. Ive been Directing a short film and its so freaking time consuming that Ive only had time to draw storyboards for it
If you're struggling with adding detail, try zooming in on a portion and refining what you can, then move on to a next area of interest and start there. Aslong as you add more information and work with smaller size brush, it should look less blurry. Keep going at it, you're improving a lot!
The castle / town is so fantastic ;_; It'd be neat to work some blues into the brick to contrast them beautiful reds. The pieces look pretty modular, man, props.

Watching your improvement has been pretty phenomenal. Very inspiring.
I've noticed your faces are a little weak. It looks like you are going with what you "think" a face looks like instead of what is there.
You might also try and vary your line weight (thick to thin, dark to light) on your line sketches.
You are doing really good work keep improving, and keep going!!

This is just a copied image though for learning purposes
From my thread

What is this for?
Thanks!
It's a boardgame I am creating! The doors are doorways to the 4 main cities of the world.
Each city represents each class of the game.

Clockworkers, Shadow Striders, Blood Lusters and Arcanists
