Thanks a lot Royzy! I haven't got a sketchbook there, but I will make one now!
Also apologies for days without posting. Ive been going out a lot lately. Took the time to draw something today. Didn't turn out as well as I wanted it to but Im glad I got my idea down.
Posting something to it everyday regardless of quality.
My aim at the moment is to just relax and let loose while painting. So don't expect anything pretty. Just odd little brain-poops.
Im not going to put in everything I've done since the last post and this. There's just no need haha :P (I ahvent stopped making art, just stopped posting. Just to clarify that up)
Keep going!, practice and practice more. Think about what you are doing, try to find out what is wrong and then try to find a way to solve it. You'll get better. Great sketchbook btw
Hey guys, I figured I may as well throw my showreel I compiled today in here.
Currently trying to land an internship at a local animation company as modeller, texturer and rigger.
Yeah, your progress has been really impressive to be honest. I have found myself in the same boat as you were when you started this thread when it comes to drawing. I think its about time I dedicated myself like you have. Thanks for the inspiration!
You have some cool ideas overall, and seemingly a natural eye for silhouette in your characters. That's nice to see.
One thing I think would help you out a lot is if started using bigger brushes - and then fewer strokes. I have to remind myself of this constantly. Using bigger brushes and almost giving yourself a limited amount of strokes to describe a form forces you to consider the form and the light more, which helps learning, but ultimately it makes the painting itself more pleasing to the eye. Using many visible strokes tend to make the painting look dirty and messy. Try to plan your strokes a little more. It's a little tedious at first, but after a while you'll develop a natural understanding for where a stroke should go.
Also, don't forget to clean up your edges a little, it does a lot to the overall impression if you have nice, consistent edges!
Hi Alismuffin! There is definitively a big evolution since your first post, that's cool.
Perhaps someone has already told you but you should try to use harder brushes and less opacity sometimes.
Go on
Thanks CMendenhall Im glad youre enjoying it
Nothing new on the environment today unfortunately :c
Yeah blue_skies! Completely agree! Any suggestions for props that could add a splash of colour?
I was thinking of maybe a carpet, banners, a fireplace, maybe a bookshelf with coloured books etc
