i havent played it in singleplayer yet, but multiplayer has some of the weirdest gamedesign decisions ever, its super confusing and the controls are nowhere near direct input - for a jump&run this is pretty bad
Was the demo force-installed on your guys Steam accounts? It was on mine and 1 other friends at least. Would be weird if they installed it on everyone's accounts automatically.
It was in my list without me putting it there, but I still had to actually install it which is I gather what most people had to do. It just had that "Files need to be a diff format" message instead of please install.
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about games showing up in my list on their own. I've been waiting for it anyway but I'm sure this is gonna start happening more and more
I feel a bit odd saying that I didnt like it that much. Rented it because I was very curious about it (mostly because of the fantastic art quality) but right away it seemed a bit confusing and more importantly, super floaty ...
I know it sounds a bit unfair but that's why I never played more than 5 minutes of Little Big Planet and this gave me the same feeling. I think Super Meat Boy really got it just right.
The game is a bit too easy and feels strange early on in the game, but trust me, it rapidly picks up and the 'floatiness' is a core game mwchanic; learning to handle how the characters jump and move becomes really important for getting through tight spaces quickly - and you never stop learning to use those basic moves right the way through the game, despite the additions
Oh so there is a PC version? Thats good, I wanted to play it so bad but wanted it in true 1080p, and for some reason the console ones are 720p or under right?
Art direction is fantastic, love it. Heard nothing but great thibgs.
If you haven't played this game, then you just need to, simple as that. I bought it for fifteen English bones from PC world... You can't really go wrong with that. But my God, its the game of this year for me (even if it did come out last year). Simply put, amazing.
EDIT: Its worth noting that the reason I bought it was because we beat the demo about 15 times... And knew the lyrics to the stupidly catchy songs that have no lyrics and are just hums... Its a classic.
I don't think the coop is online, but it does have four player local coop which is awesome. I played the game solo, but people in the office here are raving about the coop.
yep agree on that, the gameplay mechanics are just not as spot on as they should be for a jump&run, feels a lot like prince of persia, everything made to look good in movement, not feel good when playoing yourself
Hopefully this is on all platforms. But God damn, more Rayman Origins style gameplay is just... YES. A million times YES.
But PLEASE don't make this easier... The difficulty was one of the best things about the last one. I actually felt proud when I 100%ed that, because both my girlfriend and I both knew it was one hell of a feat...
Imagine it... you're playing Zelda... you go into a store to buy some potion... the shopkeeper asks you to place your bottle on the screen to buy potion... the little LED light in the frosted plastic bottle that came bundled with the game turns green/red/blue depending on what you buy... then later when you need it, you place it back on the screen to use it, and the colour vanishes.
I still can't get that IGN page to load for me even fiddling about with a bunch of variations of the URL. Can anyone give a rundown on what was so nifty about it?
That Skylandersish stuff is pretty interesting if perhaps not much more than a cute gimmick in this implementation. Given it's a clever way to make some extra money that probably can't really be pirated, I imagine the feature will see a lot of use on the WiiU. Will be interesting to see whether anyone can come up with a way to use it that genuinely adds something new to gameplay.

It's absolutely gorgeous wacky and fun and I've decided to wait for the whole thing and enjoy all at once.

PC version should arrive this month, if it hasn't already.

Holy shit... Sank about 20 hours into it over our two day break. GF and myself couldn't stop playing it, and it never got old.

This is the most fun I've had with a platformer since Super MeatBoy
LAN games aren't local, they're networked.

If so, there is hope for the world not being a smoldering shit hole yet.
