Hey guys does anyone know of a way to get lightmaps in the viewport of 3ds max with OpenGL as the renderer? (using openGL because I am running max in a Virtual machine and OpenGL gives better results).

Thanks.

Why use Max with a VM? Can't you just use Maya? Just use Windows if you want decent shaders in 3DS Max, as far as I know you can't have any in OpenGL.
Bit of a strange situation you put yourself in.

I tried maya years ago and enjoyed it.. But currently don't have the time to learn a new package or the budget right now. Can't use windows only as I am running some other stuff in oscar that I need.
Guess I'll have to find another way.. How about rendering with light maps, any tutorials on that? Never had to do light maps within max until now.

Ok, I think I got directX working... What is the best (and easiest to use) direct X shader to do this?
