I'm trying to model as much detail as possible like the other guns/weapons on this forum, But for some reason I find it extremely hard to get a good result doing it this way as I've always modelled my weapons low poly but even then the results weren't that great. So hopefully this will work, It's an M1a1 Thompson based various images I've found. And using a backdrop image on for proportions and accuracy.
strong start, i agree. keep going, always with an eye on your refs.
watch your thicknesses, especially through the magazine and the grip/lower receiver as they're just a little too wide right now. http://mysite.verizon.net/nchojnowski/munition/thompson.jpg
just like gauss said, always make sure your looking back at your references. even though your model matches up with your side view, double check your perspective angles with your references because your clip and alot of other parts seem very edgy and blocky. its a high poly model correct? so make sure that your creating smooth edges, and life like parts... the whole point of creating a high poly model is to make sure that it doesn't look fake. take your re-inforced edges down quite a bit maybe 2 or 3 times farther then what they are so you get the real feel of the weapon
Thanks for the advice guys it's going to help plenty!, I've made the grip, lower receive and the magazine thinner, I'm going to add some more detail to the other side of the weapon now. And if I'm done with all the modelling by then as well as loosening the edges, Then it'll be time to retopologize into a low poly model and then texture it.

and this is the after..
the first one looks ok, but with the edges being farther apart, it just looks better on the eye and will come out alot cleaner on the bake
Even if this is airsoft, it's more like this :

Actually, I'd say the width of your gun in general seems a bit wrong. Should be slightly thinner. But the mag is an easy way to tell!
Great work so far, keep at it!
