Hello all, I'm pretty new to Polycount and I want to start with a little project I began with. I started using 3ds max around 3 years ago. Began with 0 knowledge and I think I am on a good way of learning. But I still think I can use some help so if you want to give tips or just help me with my project, feel free to message me or post here (:

The idea is to create a abanoned hotel reception. I started to Google some pictures and came out with this:



I will be using this as a example for my work.

I started making some little objects for the reception like this:








And now I'm working on the reception itself:

did you model each line in the desk? you can just bake a normal map and make it 1 poly. post some wireframes

I did connect and extrude the lines. . I dont understand normal maps and baking and stuff. Ill post some wireframes later (:

This is supposed to be used in a videogame engine? Or are you just making something like a "Vrayish" render?

I want to render it. My computer sucks so i cant put it in udk or w/e.

If your computer can't handle UDK, you might try Source or Unity. IMO, the results aren't as good, but once you are able to see it in real time and run around it, you see the flaws and will be better equipped at fixing them.

The textures on the dresser: the wood grain is running the wrong way on the legs.
