Hey guys! Thought I'd start a little 2D thread just for fun
I'll be posting my sketches and studies here. Concept painting is not my strongest, so all c&c is appreciated as I can use it to move forward and improve future drawings. Here are some characters I've done recently, redesigns from the old fairy tale, Bluebeard:
And some older stuff from my personal sketch blog, in case anyone is interested:

I plan on making a new post by the end of today! Fantasy characters comin' right up! x]

I LOVE your lifedrawings. Dump that shit here on polycount so more people see it! Any books or sources on the subject you'd recommend?
I remember seeing that Sareh image a while ago and not being impressed -- you have come leaps and bounds, you're inspiringly badass at drawing figures.
I will watch this thread like a hawk.
I will definitely be stopping by to check back here, keep posting!!
As far as books and sources go, I've copied like every possible Frazetta drawing that exists, and also lots and lots of Rubens and Bouguereau. My favorite books are "FORCE: Dynamic Life Drawing for Animators, by Michael Mattesi" and "FIGURE DRAWING: Design and Invention, by Michael Hampton". Instruction books usually collect dust on my shelf, but these particular two do not Also, one of my biggest inspirations is Paul Richards!
For the time being, some sketches I did tonight:
Night night!!
More please.
Making some good progress. Start doing some environment drawings though!
Final set is gonna look more like this:
It did take you a whole 14 minutes to post some environment stuff.
Love those building concepts dude, keep them coming
First time doing organic modeling and these kinds of textures so your thread on hand painted wells has been really useful.
Looking for more.
Thank you Mr. Nitewalkr.
jeffro - max blockout haha. all except for the bridge. which might explain its terrible perspective T_T
And here's a little painting!
I'd love to see some more perspective in your architecture though, just to really bring it to life.
Do you use your own brushes for that or just the standard ones?
Thanks 8-Bit
Yes allmighty_thunder, edge quality has been a difficult thing for me to master - I will keep workin' on it!
a wittle womance:
I love the lighting and colors you chose. The reflections on the ground and the way you've placed the tree in the foreground are a really nice touch. The perspective on the tables feels just a little bit off however, but that's being extremely nit picky. Wonderful piece!
Do you use any reference when making these?
8_Bit - I use a lot of reference, but I could probably do to use some more haha
Thanks Pangahas - what 3d scene though? these are just some sketchies ahaha xD
