bear in mind this rumour has spread a few times already, so best to wait till confirmed reports
edit: hm, bbc are reporting it maybe there is indeed something more to it.
@Rooster, they definitely do. but as the bullets fall, they're going terminal velocity. Unless you've got a real soft spot on your noggin, you'll get get a bruise or knick from the impact. If they fire guns at up to (I think) it was 65º, the bullets will still carry enough inertia to penetrate the body
so what is confirmed is he was found in some sort of way... dont know why there are a mix up in reports unless there are motive behind why one wants to think the other.
"bloodied corpse paraded on live TV - watch the shocking video", but watch this advert for Gordons Gin first. I can't believe what society has come to......There's much better Gins than Gordons.
Oh you mean ruthlessly rule over the people... well the single dictator will probably be replaced with a highly corrupt government that pretends to be a democracy, or at least that is how the last few have gone.
Then about 30-40 years from now when everyone is sick of the corruption someone will lead a new band of rebels and freedom fighters to overthrow the government and replace it with one clear headed person. Only during that struggle they do things that change them in ways no one could have expected. That person will end up unstable, paranoid and rule with an iron fist, until...
You realize it was British planes that shot at his convoy, right? Not that the US didn't have anything to do with it, but one shouldn't assume that the US made this call.

That was not the point I was trying to get across at all =P

Hopefully Ahmedinejad and Khamenei are next. There are some very evil little man-shaped shitpiles ruling nations in that part of the world, and I am not sad to see one of them go.
With Bin Laden, al-Awlaki and Gadhafi all going down this year, the Obamanator has some famous heads to mount on the wall next to his Nobel Peace prize. A Democrat with a ferocious record on national security but totally hopeless domestic policy - he's everything that no one expected as US President.

If they are next, I hope it's by virtue of a popular Iranian revolution and without major US involvement. Obama played his hand with Libya just right, getting the desired result without sticking America's dick in everyone's face.
While I do have some sympathies for them, as no human being should be made to suffer, it still gives a sense of karma and justice to see these dictators and terrorists meet their ends, after hiding in a pit for a long time and tasting real fear...
Saddam got to spend a few years in captivity watching South Park and attending to a small garden of his own before he got hanged. Osama was hunted for a decade and got shot. Gadaffi was apparently beaten to death.
And you guys probably don't remember but in 1990 in Romania, when the people revolted, they've managed to capture the dictator Ceaucescu while he and his wife were trying to flee. They've been sentenced to death and executed immediately by a shooting squad.
Not sure which was the worst way to go.
And it makes you wonder how Chavez, Kim Jong-Il and the rest must be feeling right now. Although, sadly, there are plenty of opressing goverments now that aren't ruled by a single person and thus they'll probably remain at power...

I'm glad he's dead but I wish the celebrating Libyan fighters would stop shooting in the air. Those bullets come back down... fast and hard.
I saw footage of some idiots firing jeep-mounted AA guns randomly into the air too. Even now on the evening news interviews, there is anti-aircraft tracer fire going off all over the cities.
Celebrate, yes, but don't subject your people to a hail of falling rounds.
Haha. I don't think it's a stretch to call people who parade around a dead man that they (probably) brutally murdered savages. Doesn't mean he didn't have it coming though!

Well no I don't think it does make them savages, it was done in romania and albania and those people aren't ever refereed to as savages. The killing of a dictator is a big deal and is cause to celebrate even if it is the loss of a life.

There is a huge difference between parading in the streets because an evil dictator died (which is fine) and parading around the streets with his dead corpse while kicking it and shooting bullets in the air.

Mussolini and Nicholas II ...
so that means that Italian's and Russian's are savages too.
what i mean
the guy committed genocide to his own people so he pretty much deserve it
and we can't feel the hate that Libyan have against Ghadafi .
imagine that OWS protester being gunned by m16 and hundreds killed.
thats pretty much how nasty it was.
of course I dont want these violent people who randomly shot AA gun to air sit on parliamentary , but i cant blame their anger toward gadaffi.
its a reminder to any kind of country in this world, when people has been suffered too long they can loose control.

Kind of weird that he was shot after being captured... didn't the NTC actually want him in court (and then killed I suppose). How much control does the NTC actually have over their soldiers?

Our media also reports him dead, including some graphic photo a french reporter took with his cell.

Wish they didn't parade the corpse, unfortunate par for the course in that part of the world
We have an evil dictator here in Wisconsin too.

My bad, I think I misread your post prior to that image, and you were soapboxing about American's killing people

For one thing it burns a lot more calories...

Nicholas II in the same league as Mussolini ?
