Love everything here. Great HP and stunning texture work. Great mix of grunge, scratches and clean areas keeping everything visually interesting, appropriate for a environment of that setting without being overly noisy and detailed.
I appreciate all the kind words. You guys are the best!
There's one more vehicle I wanted to share, This may be the one I'm most proud of because it took a lot to convince the managers to let me build for the game.
RAT ROD!
I designed, modeled and textured most of this one but I took the engine, tires and some framework from the original buggy that I didn't do.
amazing works.. thanks for sharing this, it's a great art piece as well as a quality guide... The last ratrod vehicle you did looks good too. keep it up
ALL of these vehicles are blowing my mind right now. First class work from top to bottom. Inspiration folder is getting very full with all the amazing art here
Love the art! And the game is ace too, honestly all my favourite games in one!
A few questions, if you are kind enough to clear up..I heard the textures had to be considerably downsized due to filesize issues near the end of development, is this true and how did this make you feel as an artist?
And all textures are pre-baked, with no dynamic lighting in the engine? I found this a little odd considering id tech, and can't help but think those gorgeous high poly models were wasted in translation to a static lit world with no normal maps?
Been bugging me as the art is among the best I have seen! But cant help but think the engine downgrades it. I am talking about console(X360), I heard their were texture issues with PS3 and not sure about PC version.
Oh texturing. that's a lot to get into haha. I need to put some tutorials together because I get a lot of questions from people at work and online. But i will say this, those textures there. I didn't do any photo referencing. That's all Photoshop brushes and layer effects.
If I do get enough online interest in my workflow, then I'll get ta working on those tutorials

I for one would absolutely love to see the texturing workflow the that stupendously awesome ratrod!
