hello polycount, I've been a lurker here for a while now and I thought I'd make my first post. I'm self taught and still pretty amature. Comments and critiques would be very welcome. Right now I'm working on a American civil war era 1861 Springfield model. I have a diffuse/normal/ and colored spec map but I can't seem to get the desired look in udk. It better in the marmoset tool bag but It just looks flat and boring in udk. I want to make the metal look more like metal and less like a grey plastic.
