trying to figure out how i can get the XYZ coordinates of where a object has taken damage.
prferiable in kismet but if it can easily be done in uscript in a way that can sent back to kismet that works too.
trying to make a material effect for hits, on a certain object and i need to to be able to feed in the vector of the hit into the material instance.

this isnt a normal hit effect, isn't the normal, hit, spawn particle, leave decal thing, it is for a shield, so when it gets hit it causes some distortion in the pattern and that area of the shield lights up a bit.
from what i recall physical materials are for thing like telling hte engine what step sound to use, what decal to leave for bullet holes and explosive weapons, and what particle effect ot use, such as a spark for metal or wood chip for wooden surface etc.
ya thanks last night i was talking a to a guy on Youtube who created a similar effect to what im trying to achive, and i got it all worked out.
im working on several effects and when i get it all figured out and done i will mostly likely post them on the forums and explain how.
