Great looking scene, but I'm a little confused at where the red light source is coming from. Maybe place the red light coming from the end of the tunnel (which could indicate something heading towards the viewer) or from inside a cart (which could be a red glow being emitted from minerals mined inside the tunnel).
It would also be a good idea to post textures, so that people can see your artwork.
Looking sexy, the texture flats are fairly wasteful in places (alot of the wood and rope could be tiled to increase texture resolution or decrease texture sizes. Another tip would be to try sculpting some details in zbrush, as the normal maps look like they where generated with crazybump/nvidia filter. That being said, the general tone and feel of the mine is looking great. Good work dude!
thanks man!
I am definately going to try and condense the uv space used and the main thing I was concerned about was also the rock texture any tutorials you recommend for tileable textures in zbrush.
Your textures are too busy, not enough form information on them and they have black in them. NEVER have black in your textures. Work with complementary colors always, that's what creates color harmony.
what bothers me the most right now is the texture of the pole on the left hand side.
its ahero object in your scene and really close to the camera, hence it should have more detail on it.
also the floor should be the same rock as the walls, its amineshaft and probably dug into the same kind of material on all sides. now it looks as if the mountain is aprubtly ending there
I will definately take care of that im going to start with the fixes you have all gave me this week so stay tuned for more. Are there any useful tutorials for hand painted textures that any of you recommend? anything helps.
If you just do a search on the forum here ('hand painted', 'hand painting tutorials', 'texture tutorials', etc.) you should probably come up with some good stuff!
