Make sure that you mention how Penis Tank has been a steadfast rallying point for PC.
Feel free to use any of my stuff, if you think it will be of some use.
Adam, I don't wanna ask too many things and ruin your talk or anything, but I'm gonna throw this out there in case you can work it into your talk some how.
From the sounds of it, you're going to talk about how how work pays off, and places like polycount really help you improve by getting feedback from peers. But, it also sounds like you're going to talk about how posting stuff is bad, because it lets your competition have an advantage. You've pretty much already said you don't really post anything personal anymore because of it. So I'm wondering where the fine line is. I know you and I talked about having that core group of people you trust to get crits from at the PC meet up, but what about those people that don't have that core group yet? Is that going to be something you`ll be discussing?

I don't know where this came from, I don't remember saying that posting things is bad. I mentioned I personally don't post my work these days because I am not working on things that are post worthy, deserve peoples effort for criticisms, nor do I want any shallow praise.
This is 100% not the message I was trying to give. Posting stuff is never bad.
Posting. Is. Never. Bad.
My 'core group' of people I trust isn't something 'instead' of Polycount, its something I utilize in addition to Polycount. But, I do not post artwork any more until its been through the ringer of that group. It's just my own insecurities that cause that, nothing more. I am also not a fan of posting early in to a project, but I don't mind showing people individually what it is I am working on.
oo ok. ya, you just mentioned that because of the valve interview you dont post personal stuff anymore. but didnt say why that is. but then in your next post said heres an example, the art tests where everyone posts the same thing, even though you have the advantage of seeing everyone elses. I kinda put the two together, and in a very wrong way, apparently. haha.
The importance of Shin Noodle Bowls, and Rockstar Energy Drinks!
Nothing says I want my heart to explode faster than Chris Farley's like Rockstar and freeze dried salt pressed into the shape of noodles.
Come on people aspire to something greater than extending the poor college student lifestyle. Once you have a job shouldn't that mean you don't have to live in a cardboard box and lick dumpsters? Oh well, you'll get sick of it or you're heart will give out.
There's very little chance that cocks or cocks on tanks will come up in my chat. That's an inside joke special to you guys and you guys only.
So what your saying is that its going to be boring?
Ha kidding! Cant wait to hear the talk, will be great to get your point of view on the community being in a more "community leader". Should be really cool.

Trust me Mark, I know. It's a terrible yet guilty pleasure of mine.

Hopefully this clears things up.

looking forward to your talk though.
woot-woot!
It's kind of the pulse of PC.
I do really like thread's like Greevar's too. You can see him levelling up before your very eyes.
Besides my introduction and some bits on Polycount, I'm going to be discussing..
This talk is for peers & students/hobbyists a like so anything you'd like to hear is pretty open at this point.
