This is going to be a closed discussion, meaning its just for the people in the room. I am hoping to use a lot of artwork you guys have posted here as great examples of users improving, techniques being developed, what-to-do/what-not-to-do and so on.
I will do my best to contact everyone who's art I'll be using in my slideshow (again, not for web) and I will credit the artist in the slideshow itself.
I'm just wondering if anyone would take issue with me using the artwork without permission due to me not being able to contact them, and so on.
I'm not being paid for this, nor is IGDA making any money. It's purely me blabbing about how awesome this place is and things I've learned in my career and I'd really like to show us off to the audience.
Thoughts?

I mean, you've posted them to a public forum and no money is being made, so I reckon its technically "okay". But morally, and because I love you guys, I'd feel bad knowing you had a problem with it.
Ps: Not YOU specifically, Rens. Just using you as an example :P
Yeah I doubt anyone would view it negatively.
Thats the whole reason work is out there.
(Unless something is part of a payed tutorial or so)
I've *never* talked about it here, so there will definitely be some new thoughts coming out of me on that night.
On a side note seeing how people develop over time had been even more inspirational to me than seeing all those "ninja" posts, where people drop something awesome and then disappear.
Btw Adam,
If you won't be able to get it recorded, could you at least put up the slides online? I guess that could be a great compromise.
If not, I'm sure you can share the presentation with your notes later!
talk about it now bro O_O
does sound like a cool talk you be setting up tho, hope you do manage to throw a copy up here for everyone
I'd love to learn more about this. It might be hard or awkward to do a recording, but would be great if you summed it up with couple of words later and maybe share notes/slides
edit: I have to say the poster is kick ass LOL
That Valve interview sounds amazingly intriguing.
I'd also be interested in hearing about your interview experience with Valve. They seem to create a really unique working environment, so I'd love to know what sort of things you took away from an interview with them - especially considering how many applicants they probably have.
Expecting to see another thread after you've given it letting us know how it went!
(love to hear what you discuss there)
Fixed.
Also, a recording would be much appreciated.
don't forget dicks.
wait a minute, I seem too remember you making a pretty big deal about how awesome your iPhone's camera was, so why exactly can't you make vid again???
I read a Gamasutra interview recently with Gabe and Erik Johnson where they talk a lot about their studio culture. It was really illuminating, a recommended read: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/6471/the_valve_way_gabe_newell_and_.php
Just saying. :P
I'll likely be in the audience - I look forward to it Adam.
I wish I could be there. I'm looking forward to anything you can share with us.
@Frump:
Great article! Thanks for linking to it. Valve sounds so awesome to be a part of. I wish more companies were like them.
