I'm getting everything into the scene first then i will adjust all colors ect and change the textures to fit better as a whole, i will push the contrast! gogo!
I love your thumbnails. They're so full of life. It's been a while since I did any myself. They were a blast to make. I should really take the time to do more 2D work.
You've got an excellent understanding of color and the lighting in many of your paintings is bordering on the "photo-real" I would love to get to know some of your techniques.
Thanks 8-Bit but your comments are a bit over generous! i have a long way to go before anything is photo real the thumbs and everything still needs allot of work mostly color but i keep trying to push things! thank you for your encouragement it's always nice to hear
Skinny lady quick study
Trying to push being more creative for every study
Playing! the robot is a nod to razorb very inspired by him
Nice work as usual! One critique for your skinny lady: since her upper torso and arms look auschwitz skinny, her face doesn't show that she's that skinny at all. I would make her cheeks hollow as well as draw sunken eyes. Zygomatic bone would really protrude in this case.
to Kot_Leopold i agree with you! heres the ref i used she does have a normal face i found it weird also haha so thats why her face in mine isn't mega skinny but it should be i know haha.
Oranghe I wonder if the ref image is Photoshopped? Looks like it. Either way, based on your ref image, you did her justice in your drawing! Keep up the good work. Cheers
Thank you for your comment Hammed! yes perspective and scale is something i really need to work on my understanding of it right now is not allot. I will work on this asap!
This is a study i did but want to start pushing and learning how to incorporate characters and buildings ect into an environment it's certainly not easy but plan to do this as much as possible!
Haha perhaps it was my first go trying to add something extra to a standard environment i didn't really think the whole time about the other elements which is something i need to get into the habbit of which is why its probably a bit confusing hehe
Thank you for your comments they are always welcomed!
Here is a quick sketch of Supore character the cat marine original design here!
Nothing great i just really like the cat marine idea haha.
Bit busy at the moment working on a project i'm very proud to be apart of!
Some doodles for the breaks and a base to render a turian female the best i can, really want to improve doing an image from start to finish!
Had some anatomy tips from Razorb so thank you for that
Pretty sweeet! So this is what Jersey looks like in the winter time?
Love the grass and the posts on the left hand side of the road, possibly the right hand side msy be a little off perspective but those crazy people on the island may just use whatever posts they can find Excellent stuff Jemma!
Thanks Pete, perspective is defiantly one of my weakest points and i will keep workin on it!
Heres my entry to the torchlight 2 armor contest, wanted to get more comfortable with rendering and taking ideas past thumbs.
Thanks to Razorb for being a great teacher!
Nice work on the Gypsy rogue. I'm glad you posted up all your thumbnails as you progressed. The clothed leg however looks flat to me and that might be in part because of the shading and because the stripes don't distort with the form of her leg. Other than that looks good.
2 crits:
the skinny ladys head is to big. i think its smaller in the reference.
and a more personal taste crit; the soft brushes you use to make fog and stuff in your enviro paintings dont go well together with the hard, sharp brush you use for everething else. i would use a hard brush with texture to make the fog work better with the rest. cant stand the airbrushed look at all, but maybe thats just me
Thanks for the really nice and feedback comments all!
Supore! - Get to it
Stickadtorja - thank you for the feedback, i haven't tried that yet so i will call myself lazy for not testing different ways and just using soft brush. I try to break down how to paint these images when i do a study so i can transfer it into my own work later so i'm really excited about a new technique to paint fog so thanks for that! i get to it
in reply to the head your probably right i'm pretty new to the world of heads and anatomy so proportions are always an issue but i will work hard on this
Hey dude, I really like your characters and your style. It has a very nice speedy feeling to it!
I´ve viewed your SB a couple of times and I usually come back from time to time.
Also, thanks for stopping by my SB
Wow! Fun and cool stuff all around! I really like your monster thumbnails and the props for Unreal. Your lighting study on Villanis is gorgeous as well!
I'd like to see more male sketches, seems like you focus on the female form a lot --I know sometimes model availability is an issue with this. The female form is almost always depicted as pretty soft so it's hard to play with muscular anatomy much there, which is why I suggest bringing in some dudes.
Thank you for this great feedback just what i needed today
Yes your right i'm very new to anatomy so i choose to just stick with females for a bit as i understand that a bit more to get a footing but i should defiantly do more males now and understand that better, should always go learn what i know the least about the most hehe.
Thank you again and for everyone else's encouragement!.
Here is a scene i was working on to do a quick workflow for everything and lighting as I'm still new to environments and the process, this is not meant to be a finished scene with all the props as i know it is bare i just wanted to understand the method and become more comfortable with lighting in UDK.
Some sketches as a break from 3D trying to be more active with drawing! half an hour to an hour so nothing finished haha. More color and more perspective on my target list!
I'm digging the loose style, especially when it's punctuated with some of your real tight detail and linework. The cyborg chick with the pistol is especially appealing, though I can't quite nail down what it is.

Maybe it is, the image is just really odd in general haha
Am still working hard on 3D btw! just don't screenshot it as much haha value 3D the most and trying my best to learn hand painted and realistic
Did a female Turian didn't look at any ref apart from a few images of male turian ect so obviously mass inspired by mass effect haha
Some more environment thumbs anymore after this i will try to push to do in color and take one to the next level
