Doodle Creative Art Thread

Hello everybody.

We here at Doodle Creative Inc. just released a new game to the Android Market and thought that you all might be interested in some of the content we used as part of the final product.

All models are right at 500 triangles give or take about 5 either way and all renders use one 256X256 diffuse map only. Let us know what you think and if you're interested in checking out the game just search for Battle: Pirates VS Ninjas on the Android Market.

*NOTES:
  • The pirates pop up from behind counters and tables so the bigger ones didn't need to have lower bodies that would never be seen.
  • The ninja characters all used the same mesh, but we've included images of the different textures used for different characters and their final renders

Nice variety of characters! Though, I personally would have put a little more love into those textures. Keeping the cartoonish style but adding a little more colour variation and detail for the eye to pick up. Here are some examples of 256x textured characters with more detail and lighting painted in.

And be sure to check out these portfolio sites for some great low poly work with small maps.

    Thanks for the feedback TerraBite.

The textures were intended to be somewhat simplified in shading to simulate the more cartoonist style of the game, and the nice thing about mobile development is that everything is essentially a continuous work in progress so we may well be able to take more time on them later ;).

Thanks also for the links and examples, since it's always good to see how other artists work.
