HEy guys! so heres my new project, i did the concept 2 months ago.
all the main part are done and i started the zbrush the face/mask/boots/skull and back pack a bit too.

You are doing a good job there, pretty much nailing the concept. I think some grungy textures will really bring him to life.

I really like what you are doing but I definitely think you should make the arms slightly bulkier. Not too much obviously but I feel like they look a little stringy and could do with a bit more definition or "weight" to them. Good job overall though and keep going.

Looking good freddy little crit the handle of the machete looks a little soft to me maybe tighten up the edge loops a tad other then that though looking awesome! Also your backpack should look more like boobs if you ask me :P

ok heres another update, mostly on the back pack, i added a leg that stick out of the backpack , its not on the concept but i thought it could be funne and fit the charatcter more!

Looking good Fred. I think you should thicken out those fingers and bring that head down a few levels so you can solidify the anatomy better. Keep going.

thanks guys!! ok heres my new update, i started the coths a little bit and and i just redid the pose . most of the back and arms of the shirt is untouched. ill change the pose a little bit from the concept. He will be cutting an arm or any piece of a cadavre with his head looking over his shoulder looking at us. and he will have a dirty knive instead of baseball bat .

Its starting to come along. I rally think you need to look at how clothes hang on the body. It feel like they are just empty shells that have arbitrary wrinkles. Also really try to push the pose. It will really bring your character to life.

Nice freddy nice yeah as ^that dude said I would really work on the pose as the one you have no seems like he should have a toilet placed behind him ^^ But really really nice work on the backpack and details I like the folds on the pants but the shirt seems to be missing the same love and also I think that pose isnt do this piece justice maybe try looking at some zombieish reference movies or find some interesting walk cycle's and snag a pose out of em but so far so good man keep er up!

yeah forgot to mention about the pose! i just bended what needed to be bend to have the folds at the good places.
and you dont have to necessarly wait for the low poly to pose, just make sure to keep my symetry.

so!! i tried to fix what was mentioned pluus added a couple more details.
mostly all the pieces are there now except the chains and a knife that i have to model.
and more details of course !!

He still feels stiff. The details look nice, but that will never make the piece. The shape and form have to be right first. Otherwise your polishing a turd. Hope that doesn't sound to critical of me, but in order for it to feel real it has to have weight and motion. Check out a book called force by Michael Mattesi. It's all about how to make a life drawing feel like it is alive. Oh and be careful with the detail. If you put too much it can become too noisy, and loose its readability as a character.

The toes on the foot that sticks out is abit dodgy, but overall i love the concept.

i told 2 time already the the charcter is not posed yet and dont feel grounded because its not a good pose. very unnatural but it was just for me to visualize the folds...

In that case be careful on when you are posing him in zbrush because transpose can cause a lot of distortion. Especially since he is in such a cramped position.

This is looking awesome, nice work. I think you should consider spacing the fingers out a bit, this will look more natural & realistic. Also its difficult to discern what matrial the trousers are made from, if they are jeans try think more about wear, as about to tear.

Looking forward to seeing more of this cool model!

ok so i reworked the jeans, added folds everywhere, details, redone the gloves net patern, longer legs,knife... thats about it i think the jeans llooks better now tell me what you think.

so i had time to work during the weekend and had the chance to try the new Release of zbrush! so ive been deistracted trying the new feature , the new noisemaker is awesome .
so i didnt manage to find out how the new render setting work so i did a quick over pass in photoshop. he got burn all over his skin cus of the sun in his past-apocalypse world that almost instantly burn the skin.. poor dude! anyway C&C always apprecieted!

the modeling is far from over btm just wanted to try those new feature

making the pose more dynamic will help the stiffness, and his arms seem too skinny, even for a skinny person, maybe make the biceps and triceps a bit thicker? that should help a lot, but for the pose pull one foot back further than the other and have him somewhat twisted to put one arm further forward as well, make sure the forward arm is opposite of the slid back leg Looks great other than that though

lol i should write it in the title hahaha that pose is NOT the good one, hes like this because i still need my symetry.

The final pose he will be looking over his shoulder like if he just got cought while hes cutting someones arm.

and yes LROY that render is out of zbrush .

lol sorry i shoulda realized that wasnt the final pose, i really like it, the only thing like i said is the arms dunno maybe after he's textured it'll seem to fit better, it just seems like his forearms and wrists are the exact same size as his bicep and shoulder lol

Very nice. I'm not sure about the light coloured wear on the edge of the sole in the foreground as I don't think scuffed/worn rubber looks like that (if it is indeed rubber), but thats a minor detail.

It's the tiny detail on the sole of the boot adjacent to the ground. The larger worn patch above it looks fine.
