Polycount on social networks?

Just a thought, not sure if it has been talked about before or not. feel free to ignore this if it has.

Why no polycount on facebook or google+ ???

i think it would be nice to maybe see some showcases or contests etc. roll by on social networks...

would it take traffic away from the forums?

Why not looking at the problem the other way around : what would be the benefits of having a Polycount Facebook page ? Isn't the forum a "social network" already ? With less drama and less baby pics ...

Groups serve no purpose, especially for the likes of Polycount. As Pior said, the forum is already a social hub, why expand it more? If people are skilled and determined enough to learn and be better, they will come here on their own search.

There's no support for non-personal accounts on G+ right now.

But anyways, yes, I don't see much point in having a polycount presence on social networks. You'll just get the same content and it puts the precious forum ecosystem at risk! Social networks already killed off most forums; they're like an endangered species.

If you want polycount stuff on G+ and Facebook... just share polycount links on G+ and Facebook.

there's a group on LinkedIn. really great if you're hunting for a job. Recently Damesha Craig (naughty dog) and Rob Watkins (splash damage) have been posting up at least once a week that they are looking to hire artists.

I have a load of Polycounter's circle on G+. That's as good as a Facebook page for me.
