I thought I'd start a thread for my Character WIPs. I started working again on a character that was originally for DWV (I had to drop out after a week or so). I wanted to finish her, so I started blocking out the main armor/suit parts.
Here she is so far. Let me know what you think
FINAL SHOTS:
StrongRum: Thanks Nizza: Cheers buddy. Yea I'll try to get some more work done on her soon crazyfool: Thanks mate. Yea you should do a Voldemort sculpt, it would be killer! I might add some pupil inflation if I get around to doing a proper render (and clean up a few things) TylerFluharty: Thanks. I did a quick sketch when it was for DWV, but I've changed the design a bit since then. You can see it here http://img857.imageshack.us/img857/9229/dwvconcept03.jpg zxcman: Thanks bloodmoon: Cheers mate Oniram: Thankyou mr_ace: Thanks man duncan: Cheers Duncan. Loving your zombie girl!
Wow very cool stuff,i like the Voldemort sculpt, girl is looking great, though if she's wearing armor on her legs they look kinda too thin from front and back view, just my 2cents,keep going!!
jocz: Thanks. Yea I'm going to redesign the forearm armour. Jungsik: Thanks mate g2000: Thanks buddy. Yea you're right, I'm going to thicken up her legs
I'm redesigning some areas of the girl, so I'm hoping to have an update on her soon. In the meantime I had some fun finishing off a sculpt that was originally inspired by Christer Sveen's concept.
Hey everyone, it's been too long since I posted any art, so I decided to start working on the sci fi chic again. She's been through a few redesigns, so she's changed a bit. This is what she's looking like at the moment:
Your latest update is looking wicked but the folds/creases in the pants seem a tad strong. But if the fabric is meant to be that thin i would imagine it would be collecting at and overlapping the knee pad a bit more. Keep us posted bud!
GragGunslinger: Thanks, no probs mate. 55Joe: Thanks
Here's a bit of update. There's still a few areas on the pants that I need to fix, but I've done a bit more work on the rest of the clothing. Crits/Comments welcome. Thanks
Really nice work Adam! Face is a beauty, and your latest revision on the pants folds helped a ton.
I'm not sure how WIP the shirt is, or exactly what type of material and fit you're shooting for, but a couple large scale folds on her midesction might tie the top and bottom halves of the character together really well. I'm a little confused about her chest though, is that shirt or skin exposed? If it's shirt, you might want to define the breasts less, I feel like cloth wouldn't cling so tightly to the cleavage.
Also, the design in general feels a little off-balance with all the large clean shapes on the lower legs vs the organic forms everywhere else. The backpack and shoulder pads help a bit to even it out, but it might not hurt to add a little more hard surface or just large smooth shapes to her upper body.
My 2 cents anyway, hope it helps, I'm sure she'll turn out great.
Freg- Hey mate. Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. The shirt is still very rough. I've left her midsection relatively bare atm because I'm still playing around with having some material seams running through there, but I agree some larger folds would tie things together better. Her chest area will be shirt, I was a bit lazy and haven't done much work there, but I will keep your feedback in mind when I do.
I know what you mean about the design being off balance, I'm hoping that when I've worked on the metal plates on her upper torso it will help tie things together a bit better. Thanks again man.
This is looking awesome, the one crit i have is the hands need to be worked. Still looks fucking awesome, you just gotta put a little love in those hands
Awesome work Adam, love the overall look, the only thing is i feel the mech boots look to slim from the front, Might be wrong outside, upper calf muscle increase in size maybe ?? side profiles look spot on. everything else looks cracking.
Thanks heaps for all the feedback and supports guys!
It's been a while since I updated, but I started working on this again after the DS2 contest. I redesigned the boots, although I liked the mech look of the older ones, I didn't think they suited the character anymore (since she's changed a bit since I first modeled them). I've also done a bit of work on the other areas and done another quick pass on the pants.
There's still a few things I want to tidy up, but the high poly is almost done (finally).
daphz: Thanks man. Yea I'll be doing retopo and texturing her. Been watching some of your livestreams while I work
Sculptaur: Cheers, yea I'm planning on it
EiGHT: Thanks bro. Nothing special about the cloth, just standard, move, smooth and pinch brushes. Block the cloth flow in on the lower subdivisions and then clean up as I go up in the levels. Some areas look alright, but others still need some work.
Wester: haha thanks heaps, I really appreciate that:D

Good work! Looking forward to the final result, keep it coming.
