If you download this video and check it frame by frame you will understand how it is done. Most of it is just lots of spining and hiding stuff. But it is made so fast that you can't really notice.
It kinda is like magic, because they trick you into thinking this is happening when infact it's not.

To animate that its just alot of scaling, rotating, keying visibility, etc. Its all simple animation done well. And great rendering.

If you used ANY 3D modeling software in the past year or more, and learned all the basics and don't have a correct understanding on animation, you could still pull something like that off with enough work.

What is sounds like is for us to tell you how they did in the shortest amount of time, which doesn't exist since it all dependent on you and your tools.
