Hey to all,
I have a small question, how can I bring around my 3DS Max, and all the small stuff I customized in it, with me?
For example, I have customized the colors and the menu's of my 3DS Max, but no matter what version I try it on, whenever I move to another PC, it defaults back to the old outlay.
I also tried simply copying my files (mnu's and such) on the root directory for replace the files, and they didn't work.
Any tips? Cheers and ciao.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\3dsmax\2009 - 32bit\enu\UI, not in max root directory
So, when you on other PC try to load all mnu's and other files. Then close max and run it again.

I have been fighting with the weird "enu" stuff for too long, it's such an annoyance.
@Eric: You can do that? Nice, I'll take a look at the link you put in, thanks!
@Pior: Indeed it is!
Hey, remember, this is only a manual for 3DS Max, not the infinite power of Christ.
I mean, I don't rely on the manual of 3DS Max much after several cases of it being wrong, links below:

They most likely fixed it up, but I'm always wary of whats written in their (unless another users confirms said functions works).
First thing I do is start playing with the app itself, see what it does. Then I look at the help file, since it's usually the most informative resource. Then Google. But the help file is often very good.
Well, ofcourse not, that would be silly for me not reading the Help file, I always do that, but I don't really like most Help files which are created under the same system of Max, since they're not flexible.
I think I spent a good half hour yesterday looking for something about Space Warps, only to find out because of a small typing mistake, it wouldn't show me the correct documentation.
And today, it was showing me that the Bridge function was indeed open for the Quad Menu, until I finally gave up and asked, only to find out it was not true. In 2012, a friend of mine literally burst into rages when he found out that half of the Nitrous viewport settings aren't correctly documented for the texture quality.
I'm not trying to sound like an anti conformist ass who don't like following or read rules, but then again, I do live my life by my Siggy, so do tend to go mental with my problems. :poly142:
About typos... you could try using Google instead of the built-in search

Ha, I started doing that a few minutes ago, good stuff, thanks
I should really take the time to set that up and use it personally...
More on that here, giant thank you to RenderHJS and SyncViews:

Its also incredibly boring to read/ ingest information from :P
Nice, thanks for the link, I should get into that from the looks of it, unfortunately I have no idea on how to go about this since by nature, I tend to screw things up. I think it took me 5 tries to install a script on Max today at my lab when it installed perfectly fine at my home PC.
Is there an easy dummies guide to this? I mean really dummies, as in I cannot possible go wrong or screw up something?
So far I just drag my whole Max directory with me and deposit on the desktop and work with that, so far is served me well, but I want to level up.
