I have this... well, I don't think it's a problem...
But, I catch myself nerding out on buildings of various architectural styles, of course... when I tend to be artists who aren't environment artists, but they are friends. I'll just go spouting info about architecture...
So, anyone else do something similar?

Artist nerd: Sculptures, seriously... I could stand next to a classical sculpture all day long trying to analyze how the fork the artist made it.
Talk about games, current or old. If you start talking to me about old school games like Doom or Quake 1-3, I get super excited... I mean, gibs and rocket jumping aren't the same anymore!
And PC tech talk :poly121:
Competitive Barbershop Quartet singing! In particular, super close harmony with lots of "outside" notes - b7b9 chords even more specifically.
<-- so jealous.
"imagining real life wireframes on every object around you"
"constantly thinking about how I'd make stuff I see in the real world as a material"
yup and yup. and also trying to work out best way to emulate things with particle effects and animated textures when doing really mundane things like making a cup of tea....
+1!
Racer445 Awesome! I'm a big Arcade parts fanatic as well! Ordered myself some Seimitsu buttons + joystick so I can get cracking on an arcade controller (undoubtly one of many). And in the summer a mate and me are going for the whole MAME cabinet thing.
You just gotta lurv the feel of a Seimitsu LS-32-01!
travelling...must...explore...!
Seriously; I have a sickness.
Some minor geekouts are architecture, medieval armor, and good animation flicks.
Getting more nerdy on the computers, building etc.
and
TEA.
Swizzle, totally with you on the Caravaggio love, he rocks my world
I'm about as big of a stats junkie as they come tho. In high school, I used to wake up an extra half-hour early so I would have time to watch Stump The Schwab before going off to class.
like honestly, sometimes when i'm watching animu i just get this overwhelming sense of "YES" I also love really awful bad tragic romance plots, and hate it. Like really. It's so lame but they always get me.
Im a geek slut..
Seriously though, big interests are art, psychology, history, trivia, the mechanics of visual deciet etc.
. . . very specific >_>
I geek out over exceptionally (imo) good movies or TV shows (Game of Thrones, MLP, Zombieland), videogames, books, music.
I always love badassery I guess, and massive shows of immense power, like a nuke going off or all of 2012 (nature can be so cruel, but so great)
Hmm this is broad, TL;DR: Possibly anything really, if I meet a person doing something I know nothing about I'll probably bother them to no end to learn more about it :P
Specifics would be Epic Turning points in any type of story, vast and majestic landscapes and abandoned civilization, especially modern (like Pripyat)

I totally want! :poly124:
I was obsessing about trees on my trip to ohio over the last 6 days, I like anything based of fractals :P.
Dude, how'd you know?

this, good games like deusex and color!
D= ; I love my new mini. That's definitely something I nerd out on when I get on the interstate.
I love my gizmos and gadgets anything tech.
Aside from that being outside and picking out seams and repeating textures is fun and usually makes my friends give me weird looks. O_o
Medieval or otherwise old and rural stuff
Classic RPGs, mostly with pre-rendered(or painted) backgrounds as mostly found on PSX (FF7-9, Chrono Cross, Legend of Mana, Baten Kaitos,...), or otherwise awesome games, movies(see asian revenge movie thread) and some anime series(Kara no Kyoukai, Black Lagoon, Code Geass, Baccano,...)
Slightly excessive desktop setups, such as 3+ screens, shiny special keyboards (hello g510!), showoff cases or other gadgets and hardware
And I'm also kind of obsessed with workflow optimization/scripting.
Though lately I've been into beer brewing. Love to read about different characteristics of yeasts, hops, history and styles of beers, listening to podcasts etc. Also nerding out about brewing equipment and of course drinking and making the beer.
