Oh man..makes me appreciate being from San Diego where I don't have to wait that long at all for In n Out..
*serp. It's the best burger you can get from a fast food chain. And amazing shakes..and really..some of the tastiest crispy french fries. Mcdonalds tastes like rotten meat compared to the juiceness..freshness.. Deliciousness of an IN n Out Burger with it's creamy special sauce.... God, this is turning to food porn
We don't have them in England. Is it better than burger king and mcdonalds? Why is it popular?
Let me just say this plainly and honestly and bluntly.
In and Out shits all over BK and McCrapholders any day you are hungry!
Though fair and simple, its actually the healthiest fast food left around (in the west coast at least) that is edible and made fresh.
Plus the fries aren't preserved in jars for 5 years before being served! :P They are freshly made from full potatoes. Which can be seen anytime you walk into the place.
the best fast food burguer ever , and , surprise, its portuguese only , gourmet burguers on the plate with great homemade fries and thai rice with a huge variety of sauces and types. The lines in these are always huge and they are quickly serve
Yeesh, who waits that long in line for a fast food burger? Can make a way better burger at home, for cheaper, and in less time. :P Kinda removes the point if fast food stops being fast. :P
I am truly amazed by some facets of the US. A friend of mine told me she went to that awesome bakery place, and waitin in line for two hours for a cranberry muffin was totally worth it.
Fascinating!
Every time I have to wait in line for more than 5 minutes I feel like genuinely wasting my time and neurons, and leave. How do you guys manage to do this ?
Nuthin' wrong with that! Spent a few months in NC back in the day and chick-fil-A is awesome! Also only if a few states if I hear correct, any americans I have met since don't know what I'm talking about when I mention the place.

Chick-fil-A is growing. I remember a time when they were only in strip-malls and it was a huge pain to get to one. But now, I see stand-alone branches popping up.
I'm not sure about their regional locations tho. I grew up in the Baltimore/Washington area, and they were pretty common, but now that I live in Pittsburgh, I haven't seen any. They're big enough to have their own bowl game tho :poly142: http://www.chick-fil-abowl.com/
I've never eaten at In and Out, but as an American, I believe it to be my duty to consume it.
I haven't tried In N Out, but I'll pass for now until those crowds die down. With all the big burger franchises moving in to the Dallas area, I hope the smaller places don't fail.
Chick-fil-A is good. I never heard of it until I moved from NY to TX.
I also tried another fast food place that moved in recently called Five Guys and Fries. The food was decent, but the best part I think was probably the free peanuts you could eat even while waiting in line to get food.
Yeah this aspect of American culture really blows my mind. You can probably get better burgers (or non-burgers) at smaller places that aren't a chain. It's just a fucking hamburger!!
Also at In N Out you can actually watch them cook your food. It isnt microwaved. The pattys are not pre cooked either. You can see them take the raw frozen patty and cook it to perfection in front of your eyes!

haha. well I DID learn to be more patient when I was in the US. Like when the old lady in front of you starts paying with a personal cheque or random chitchat develops between the supermarket cashier and a customer ("ooh what a nice blouse you have...aww...ohhh")
Also I'd love to have a Wendy's here (at least that).
And if you think Bk > McD, come visit beautful Austria! Whoever runs the Bk franchise there made sure that all the burgers are made of styrofoam which they match both in consistency and taste, if it weren't for all the yucky sticky grease.

We left school today to go check it out, it was raining bad so figured that the line would be small... there was a mile long line directed by police haha

yeah, you could go to a butchers, get 10 raw patties for the price of 1 in n out burger, and cook it yourself.
it would be healthier AND better value for money.
That's not a burger franchise. This is a burger franchise. http://www.burgeredge.com/menu_beef.html
It's still vastly outdone by any number of indi joints a'course.
Knowing my luck, this is how it would go. I'd wait an hour in line, get my food, roll forward, check my bag, and find my fries missing. Then I'd have to find a way to make it through all these people, just to get my fries.
Not that I'd ever wait that long in line. I wonder how many of these people bitch about gas prices, yet sit in line wasting the gas.
I'm from Melbourne, AUS, I've never seen anything like this. The closest I've seen is when Krispy Kreme first opened up this side of town.
Me and another manager after work (got at the place at 2am) - joined a line of cars - not open to anything other than drive-thru.
There were people directing traffic n everything. That was just to get into the car park. Then we had to arange in lines of about 5 cars long. Each 5 car line would get called up to go through the actual drive thru.
We were back on the road at about 4:30am.
I've never been back since.
*edit*
Oh and by looking at this - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYpqEAFyg2w&NR=1[/ame] - it actually looks kind of feral. I was a full time Maccas manager at the time of Krispy Kreme line and nothing at Maccas looked that bad.
I agree with oobersli Twisted Root Burger is one of the best burgers places ive had.
It is close to where In and Out Burger is located in allen and fairview area.
I live around 5mins from both places i mentioned.
Really Doubt i go try In and Out Burger till it slows down a little.
Saw another one opened in Frisco as well for all the locals on here.

They did that when a Sonic location opened out here. There was a field behind the building, that they were feeding cars in to, and splitting into 5 lines. Then each line took turns going in the drive thru.
I was interested in trying the place, but wasn't willing to wait in the lines. Two months later, you could drive right up, no wait. Seriously people, you don't NEED to be the first.

In and Out is by far the best chain burger.
The thing is, I'd imagine Texas has all kinds of Ma n Pa type burger places that completely destroys it.
I've seen Diners Drive-In's and Dives.

Hopefully I'll be headed to the states next year, and In-N-Out is on my list of things to try. Hopefully it's as good as everybody makes it out to be.
I also tried another fast food place that moved in recently called Five Guys and Fries. The food was decent, but the best part I think was probably the free peanuts you could eat even while waiting in line to get food.
there are TONS of better burger places here in Texas. Especially in Austin.

animal style 4-always and 4-ever :poly124:
That's the thing....they do!
I swear...they put crack in those burgers, always craving them!
Especially when you're near an In N Out burger and smell the deliciousness of aromas coming out of that place!

You watch videos of people eating burgers?
olololol
there is only 1 burger that is on the bread. the rest of the burgers on the menu are eaten on the plate.
we went to chipotle instead :-D
wtf burgers? fast food anyway, so crap of food. You should come to spain...
ahah
Its tough calling to spain after work .
Its pretty amazing that there was a 1 mile que. We only get that sort of thing for social welfare, and Justin Bieber concerts. (important stuff)

Best burger in Austin is Phil's Ice House! IMO
