Don't buy it, it's so slow it's no use.
In cs5 you can assign an hotkey to the color selection dialog, use that instead. Or you could use the color selection hud thingy, very poorly integrated in the workflow, but still it's there.
its a SWF panel as far as I can tell and Adobe didn't plan so far yet keyboard or shortcut integration or a bridge to Photoshop. Because the keyboard focus is within Photoshop till you actually click within that SWF panel at least once at which time you have focus within that SWF stage. Once you have focus you can have keyboard events, mouse wheel etc. but not before.
Yep, tried, the thing is the outer ring activates if you don't let the keys go quickly before moving your mouse, because as your mouse moves toward the outside of the hud, you activate that ring and switch to another color... Poorly integrated gadget. That was a nice idea but that color ring picking mode is stupid.
At least you can use the hud strip, which doesn't have that issue. But still having to maintain keypress to choose your color is annoying, a toggle option would've been better imho.
[EDIT]Nevermind the above, VERY COOl tool calabi, tnx for the link !
Thanks for answers - you don't waste your money. This picker is more than this simple tool from cs5. You got not that control how in magicpicker.
Version 2.0 is out by the way - but upgrade cost 7 $
I ask the producer if he can put this function in. It will coming with 2.1.
It's not worth it even with all those fine functionalities, it's so damn slow you're better off using the functions already available in photoshop even if they're not as ergonomic.
Oh and I've yet to see that speed increase in 2.0 (IT's A TRAP §)
Guys, thanks a lot for the link to MagicPicker!!!! Never thought there is a panel that can be run inside Photoshop.... This plugin is amazingly amazing With all color schemes, color wheel - just what I wanted..... I tried hud - never liked it, always wanted a picker in a panel.
I don't know, why you say it's slow - it runs like hell. BTW, I'm using it on Photoshop CS5... just found out my friend was using it on CS3 - asked him, he says it's very fast too..... Maybe you're mistaken lol.
Anyway, I love this plugin. Thanks again for the link! Love you guys

If you hold space, while hovering over the middle it locks the tone as well.
I had no idea about the HUD selection thing. HOLY CRAP.
I just wasted $14

A free alternative (donation of 5$ is appreciate):
Painters Wheel
I use it a lot and it's awesome how fast I can select a color.
Seems to just crash CS4 whenever I try to select it : /
Don't. Speed is the same beside charging 7 extra bucks with a lie about speed is lame.
