Hi!
I just set up a new portfolio. It's kinda basic at the moment because I was pretty sure there would be a lot wrong with it. I'd rather do a little and fix stuff early than a lor and have to scrap a lot of work. Crits welcome!
EDIT: A little more info. I'm looking for crits on the website and on the work itself. I've just finished my last semester at uni doing a masters in 3D Games Modelling and I'm gearing up for a jobs search over the summer.

Espically with the lighting you could put a bright sun with light shafts on in the direction like the concept and have some real good atmospherics going on with the sun rays and what not.
Breakdowns on the waterfall would be great aswell, seeing as most people who look at that video will probably be going " So how did he do that. "
I've added some breakdown stuff to the Lava Plane page, is this the kinda thing you were after?
One thing about these two pieces that bug me is they are good distance, cinematic scenes, but not so much game environments where the player would navigate around. A new piece with up-close detail could be a great addition.
Anyways, I've finished up some of the more basic fixes. The balcony is now in and there are more LIGHTSHAFTS (pew pew kapow oh god dont ask i dont even).
Doing this has really highlighted a few areas that could use some lovin'. I'm going to redo all the stone architecture in the same style as the balcony and add some wind effects to the vegetation.

EDIT: Don ze goggles!
Apart from the statues to either side of the entrance I;ve re-done every single stone asset. I also added a quick root model (the fact that you can export sections of UDK maps out as OBJs was invaluable here). I've also added some creeping plants as per the concept (following this awesome thread).
Still to do are some more, smaller bits of creeping plants, replace the flanking statues, add the angel statue, do some flag stones for the bridge walkway and do a texture/model for the walls and ceiling in the passage.
I should also point out that lightshafts appear not to be captured when using tiledshot (as I am) but they are still there and unchanged from the last update.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm also redoing my water. Currently it's all been removed until I can come up with something more satisfactory.
I'm also midway through the sculpt for the new statues to flank the door. It just needs to be damaged up a little and then it will be ready for retopo and baking.
And thanks! Glad you like the water!
I've spent a couple of month revamping the waterfall scene and I'm calling a halt on it now (it'll never really be done in my eyes, I have to draw the line somewhere).
So with that addressed and my portfolio I've begun addressing the other issue voiced here back when I first posted this thread; not enough technical info. I've added a whole bunch of info that seems like it could be relavant to potential Game Boss Men Guys. I worry that there's either too much or too little or a combination of the two.
What do you think Polycount?

P.S. I have only updated the Waterfall page. I'm not going to add more tech info to the Lava Plain page until I know I'm onto a formular that doesn't fail. So ignore that for now, please.
