Very cool idea. Maybe add something to the Squirtle though to make it more recognizable as a Pokemon? I know it's being made in a different style, but maybe incorporate the swirly tail that Squirtle has into the concept somehow? Otherwise it comes off as a badass turtle. Which is pretty great in itself. Awesome so far though, looking forward to its progress!
Liquid-Grievous: You're right. I prob won't have time for DW . The Pokemon trainer is a selectable character in Super Smash Bros, iirc. He doesn't actually fight though. Instead, he uses 3 pokemons.

Update. I moved around some of the accessories on the model and added a few more things.
love the nod to ash ketchum's hat on the fanny pack. Some really nice detail and cool smaller things going on here. Do you plan on rigging the face at all? I miss the badass expression he has going on in the concept.
