I noticed the pokemon ball is anatomically placed.. I would assume that would be the mecha's weakpoint too lol? Otherwise I think if you can keep the same emotion as in this first pass, your entry is going to be awesome lol

This is going to be good. I can imagine pika running all around his body keeping robo ash working smoothly. The curious placement for the ejection of pokemon is my favorite part !

Do the pikachu, you're already like 10% done if you use that bust and you can do it almost entirely in zbrush, way more likely to finish. I'm really diggin' it.

His ears look like those coils that send an electrical current slowly up, maybe you could roll with that and throw some tesla coil type stuff on 'em, or you know... crazy funny stuff like your first concept. Make him some kind of 35 year old man-child. Give him a porno mag in one hand and a lunch box in the other, backpack that looks like a small pikachu full of pokemon cards. Could be funny.
