Hi friends,
I am a game design student..and I am new to Poly count forums,
Right now i am working on creating models for games.
where i came up with some doubts and questions to be clarify.
What is the minimum and maximum poly count limit being used at present.
If possible, please explain with character and vehicles separately..

You won´t need a high detailed model for a Strategy title for example, because you won´t see the models up close.
On PC the polycount can be higher than on iOS or Handheld devices.
Most handhelds have a common limit for how much polygons can be shown at once and stuff.
If you make the polycount considerable you will most probably run into problems regarding texture space.
if youre going mobile, then you want to keep everything as low poly as possible. The last mobile game i worked on had a limit of 256 verts for props and 500 for characters. this was for ipad.
current gen console and pc engines are less likely to take a performance hit from geometry and more likely to be bogged down from shaders
