Wow, you learn something new everyday. I had NO idea that when exporting from max you could export it's position relative to the scene in max. Now i think about it it's pretty obvious but it is nice when you end up solving a problem on your own once in a while
I'm having a really annoying problem with Marmoset tool bag, when i use lights other than the sky light seams appear where there arn't any and i'm not really sure why. Here's what i mean
These artefacts bear no relation to my diffuse or normal maps either.
has anyone got any ideas as to why this may be happening?
Also if it helps, when i flick the Object spaced normal maps switch the erros leave the model, this got me thinking it was a problem with the normal map but it happens with or without the normal maps on
Annnnd it's done well, this is what is ended up handing in last night and I'm pretty pleased with it. Any crits would be welcomed though as I will be adding clothes over the summer
Now that my hand in has passed i've decided to start on clothes, this will be the first time i try and kind o cloth work so it should be interesting
Here's where i am so far, i went for the classic 'wife beater' for this guy.
and this is him wearing it
there are some areas where his body goes through the mesh so I'll have to deal with them but i just wanted to get somes crits on things like the folds in the cloth and the texture. I also realise there are some errors around the seams of the vest and that's because i modelled those in and they'be got pretty harsh edges. going to remove the detail on the mesh and let the normal map do it's work

It's not perfect and there are some annoying seams on show but i'm actually quite please that the last day and night didn't ammount to nothing
it was rendered in the Marmoset engine.
