I smoke pot every now and then (like 4 times a year or so), and have done shrooms once. IMO if you take drugs as a recreational substance, sort of adventure thingie, instead of using it to get out of situations where you don't want to be (e.g. stress, bad environment or something) it's perfectly fine.
I'm very keen on doing mushrooms again, because I felt that was veeery cool. It's also not addictive, because if you eat mushrooms more than twice a week they simply don't work any more. And if you feel the trip is too bad you can just drink a whole lot of sugar water and it'll wear off soon. You do feel kinda nauseous throughout the experience though.

Kind of the same here, maybe it's because we're from Holland and using drugs for fun (as in: not to get you trough the day or make you forget your problems) isn't really a big deal here. I can definitely recommend mushrooms if you are curious and not scared about them, otherwise a bad trip is imminent. I did mushrooms about 4 times, that shit will change your opinion about life and how you percieve things in general!

I don't know man, maybe I'm just jealous. I was using prescription drugs(antipsychotic+antidepressant) for some years and even the sight of alcohol would upset me because I couldn't drink. I'm actually surprised to learn drug use is welcome like this around the globe. It's not like that here in my country.
I still don't consider drugs as a way to relieve stress for myself though as there are much easier alternatives that fit into my daily life. I mean, I have the time to go jogging etc.
Saw this link a while back. From what I hear, he suffered mild brain damage from trying all that. Being straight edge, I don't agree with what he was doing, but it's still kinda interesting.
Just dropping in to say that I'm glad people are really 'opening' up and sharing their thoughts and experiences with everyone. I will post the results of the survey later tonight. Back to work!
I do not approve of this thread until someone posts a drawing or model they did while under a drug.
Here you go eld: Art work from me. Thought it was a good idea to re-create a room from F.E.A.R. 2 and put it in my demoreel. I look back on this and just think how retarded I was. Plus my sense of scale.....*shivers*
I like a nice coffee to be awake, alert and energized.
I like a nice beer to compliment a great dinner.
I like a nice whiskey when casually socializing.

I like a nice bit of weed for time with friends and a movie, or a late night with Photoshop or Zbrush or a lady.
I'd like a nice shroom sometime again to have while watching the Faculty. Elijah Woods's eyes will peer into your soul.
PS: Soda is a rare treat or a mixer, not a habit. That's just gross. :P
who cares what someone chooses to do with their personal time? most drugs are far less harmless than alcohol, which is pretty openly consumed in excess by tons of individuals on a daily basis.
i know many people that use drugs for personal reasons, not just to get "fucked up" and they have no problem functioning in daily life. personally i smoke marijuana but i don't do it for "creativity", more for personal issues. the drugs i find to be most harmful are the ones purchased at a drug store counter, and if i cant ingest a naturally growing plant to give me the same "relief" then why not? thankfully i live in a place where marijuana use isn't harshly frowned upon in anyway, but i would never mix it with work (especially if i knew it was problem).
do what you gotta do, but make sure you are also able to handle your shit in daily life. if you can manage that, your all gravy baby
Not that this adds to the conversation much. But I am a straight edge I guess. I don't drink, smoke, or take drugs. I don't really care if other people do, just not something I am interested in trying.
I've given most drugs a try, simply because I don't see the point in denying myself the experience. Most I'll never do again. I smoke marijuana on a regular basis, but everything else, not so much. I smoked cigarettes for a good while too, but recently I quit. Hallucinogens, generally, are the only drugs that I've personally found to be worth repeating. I've never had the good fortune to get ahold of any shrooms, mescaline, or DMT, but I've taken LSD plenty of times and each time was better than the last. Hallucinogens (like the ones I mentioned, as they are natural) are only worth repeating, in my opinion, because they are non-habit forming, non-toxic, and provide a very unique experience and you don't get a hangover. What isn't to like?
I understand and agree with the argument that it's less harmful than alcohol and probably should be legal.
But I hate the smell. I hate the way pot-smoker's smell too. I generally have negative first impressions of people who are smoking pot or smell like pot.
I'm don't think I ever gonna do drugs, since needles scare the crap out of me, I don't smoke, pills freaks me out, and I like my nose to much to ruin it. Guess I 'could' get some brownies...
Ah well, think I stick with my current 'drugs': Pepsi Max, decaf coffee (yeah, had to cut down, so went all decaf), beer and wine.
I wonder if alcohol was illegal, what people would think then. Its been found its more dangerous than herion and crack, also if weed was legal would people still say its bad or is it now ok? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11660210
If people do drugs at work, I could care less by default. If I can't notice and it doesn't affect their work it doesn't matter to me. Sadly, this isn't always the case. I don't want to have to smell chronic on someones clothes when then come talk to me, nor do I want to be talking to someone who's having a hard time comprehending basic speech.
But as Ferg pointed out and is very true, drugs affect everyone differently. Towards the end of my use, weed just made me stressed and paranoid. Though that could be because we were constantly running through the back hills and avoiding cops in Prunedale, hah. When I was at 5000ft Inc, we had several engineers who would routinely smoke up every day at lunch. The secretary also sold weed out of the front desk. Needless to say, the engineer's work was shit and the company essentially dissolved not long after I left.
All joking aside, just be careful if you do lots of drugs, it can seriously mess your mind up. I Know so many people who have gone bonkers through using even cannabis. You really don't wnat to become psychotic.
It might be fun smoking weed for a while but after a few years, it just starts to mess you up.
Same with alcohol, long term use just fucks you up, so please enjoy yourself while you are young but be gentle with your mind, because its easily broken.

I've never touched a cigerrate, a joint or anything in that caliber... It's all about the beer

The ironic part is, this will probably give me cancer and kill me, while you stoners will be just fine.
but at least i won't have to listen to you telling me about how beneficial it is and how misinformed the masses are :poly124:

Wasting part of your life over an addiction or lack of willpower (separate issues!) is laaaaame, dont do that.
I am glad I am not the only one who likes that film. There is some epic cheese in it.
Plus Famke Janssen.

Bunch of squares. Get some needles and inject heroin into your eyeball if you want to be a real artist
Also, the idiot on LSD who jumped out of a window story he talked about WAS a positive drug story. At least I thought so
[EDIT] Thought I'd add that's just a joke, just to make sure nobody gets upset.
