Hello all,
I'm really looking forward to the new Suckerpunch film coming out so decided to pass the time making my own version of Babydoll from the film. I thought I would post on here for any comments or critiques to help me improve this model. I think the high poly is just about done and have started with some texturing work before building the low play and baking.
I hope to get this rigged and animated and working in the Unreal engine.
Any comments which would help me to improve would be greatly welcome.
Thanks for looking.

EDIT:
just work a litte more on the face and you'll be good
I worked a bit further on the head and fleshed out the cheeks a bit more as mentioned. I also started on the skin textures inside zbrush. With a little more work hopefully it will come out looking decent.
Here is where I am at;
Also as requested here is the colt 1911 that she has. Using images from the 'art of the film' book I have the detailed designs which will be added onto the sides of the gun when I come to texture it. It doesn't look like these details are engraved like the ones on the sword so I will probably do this on the spec map.
Thanks again for looking.
FUCK
and
YEAH!
This
relative to eachother the look perfect, but relative to the headsize it looks off.
Id suckerpunch that if you know what Im saying.
...
I have baked out all of the maps for my babydoll character and have been working on the textures. This is where I am at presently as seen below with a viewport grab from 3dsMax using the Xoliul shader. This is only the normals and diffuse, so no specualr on there yet. Ignore the hands, xnormal wouldn't pick up the polypaint from my highpoly so will have to do these in photoshop. The hair obvioulsy hasn't been started yet, which I am not looking forward to. Still have a way to go so any comments will be helpful.
Thanks for looking
Really liking where this is going. ^_^
The image is a viewport grab from Max using the Xoliulshader.
Thanks for looking
After finishing the textures I rigged and posed the character and used marmoset for the renders. I still want to do a couple more poses and renders before calling this done, but am looking for any more pointers on the character before doing so.
This is the first time I have used marmoset to render so any pointers in this area would also be welcome.
Thanks for looking, and thankyou to all who commented throughout this work.
Just kidding, She looks awesome man! very good detailing and texturing!
It looks like there is no spec at all, it almost looks like its in unlit mode
The specularity is actually turned on and is present, but obviously not enough. I think it doesn't show up very well/at all due to the lighting. I chose to try and use blue/cold lighting to match part of the movie, but this has had an impact on the specularity. I'll adjust this and repost up another picture when I have chaged the values.
Thanks
Like others have posted, a little more attention to the face and Specular.
Also Marmoset v1.03 update has now sorted Alpha issues.Give that hair some alpha love
Hopefully these changes have improved the model, but if anything has anything else to say please feel free.

Thanks
- It looks like the space between the bottom of her nose and her lips is too long, also her forehead is a bit too small. I think if you lower the eyes and nose just a tad it might come closer to resembling her.
- Her cheeks don't look puffy enough.
- Her brow line seems a little too low on the insides. and the shape of her eyebrows is more of a soft curve.
Really nice work here, but as everyone else has said, the face could definitely use some work. As a huge fan of Sucker Punch I would hate for this to turn out awesome but have a jacked face, so I did a paintover that will hopefully assist you in making it closer to how she actually looks. It's not perfect but hopefully it's helpful. I included notes of all the things that would help her look more like Babydoll/Emily Browning.
Please don't call this done yet, a few tweaks and it could be perfect and make for a 10x better piece.
...One note I forgot to put on there: Eyes less white. (They make her look really fake, make them grayish)
Emily Browning
everything else looks top notch though keep up the good work
I spent today making the improvements mentioned. I don't think i'm going to be able to get 100% likeness, but I feel that the changes I have made have definitely made a big improvement to the model.
Let me know if you think I have gone too far or not far enough. If you want me to post up any more images or different views let me know.
Thanks

EDIT: just noticed, her arms are looking lifeless; really really pale.
ALSO, check this out http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81562
Somewhat scarey but it demonstrates the point
I think the idea of blusher is to add volume to the cheek bones at the moment it covering most of her face making her skin look ruddy.
Also her eye makeup doesnt surround her entire eye. it seems to be focused on excentuating the size of her eyelashes and darkening the upper lid, your shadow seems to extend up to the brow.
[edit] didnt see your last post, no point posting this if your done [/edit]
I don't want to be a pain but your suggestions are a great improvement and the model would benefit greatly from it.
