I'm going to take this wonderful piece of art into the future.
I'm aiming to make a clean spaceship station in white/grey/black +reflection type of material everywhere, color being handled by IBL-like lighting and glow effects.Latest Update;
Blockout

And a new one, stairs and bay:
edit: got links from IE, but it seems that http://uppix.net/ doesn't allow access to anything. maybe its country related (I'm in Russia). would be great if you can do something about it
jeffro: good idea about riddick, I remember good moments watching that film. Maybe it'll find some stuff to put in.
Kay guys, got a first block-out done, really rough but it sorted the perspective at least. It's all symmetric at the moment but it'll change.
S2Engine: yeah wall-e is a good example of how I want the materials to look. Will have a look at KZ3's level
To all my Russia mates, I moved all the pictures to dropbox, and it should display well now.
thanks! after what you did for BEAT-EM-UP contest, I'm watching this thread closely for sure
Crits welcome
Last update today, stairs and windows, still have to figure out what to to with the focal point.
I'm looking forward to seeing more, keep it up!
I added the sofas, reworked wall panels and ceiling, the bay style is still completely temporary.
Bal: Thanks man, looking forward myself into making this scene a strong piece after the be-rushed Beat'em up
S2Engine: you should have kept Frasco if it was your first idea, I don't see why you'd have to change to a stage you like less, we can all go in total different directions for the same stage!
Ben Apuna: Cheers, yeah since I'm terrible at concepting things, it must have been hard to see where I go.
Oh nah it was the other way around; I was going to take this stage I'm working on and re-imagine it in a similar style to what you're currently doing, with lots of reflective white scifi tiles/paneling etc. I'm actually really excited about the direction I eventually chose, but seeing yours coming together so well is very inspiring!
And no, it's not Darth Vador (You wish:poly142:)
Thanks everybody for your interest!
MortalJohn: Well I started on Thursday I think, and worked an average of 2 hours a day since. It's pretty fast to model a block out of sci-fi elements.
SnakeDoctor: You mean the ground I guess? And yes, all screenshots were taken from the viewport till now, and shooped.
Have a look at a single asset, it's tiling and snaping on 256uu:
This is solid, man. Love everything about it.
Lighting is temporary, as well as emissive stuff. I really dont like how it looks at the moment, I hope to fine tune this during the contest.
Any paintover appreciated.
Color scheme is great though stick with that please.
I really like the a symmetry in the environment. Very subtle at first which is great.
Can't wait to see your progress.
Update,
Here's a bit of wall HP,
