"In the near future mankind unwittingly unleashes forces from within a parallel universe, this realm comes to be known as the Nether Realm.

Mankind is quickly overwhelmed by hordes of inter-dimensional beings, the remaining survivors are left dominated and enslaved.

In a last ditch effort to balance the war a small bastion of resistance fighters construct a cybernetic vessel which they believe can harness the twisted energies caused by the merging of our two universes.

This vessel however needs a living host in order to channel the energies.
Sgt. Alex Raiden, a brave young soldier volunteers to undergo the surgery."

This is such a great concept, I was going to do something similar but I may go the opposite direction. One issue i see you running into however is coming too close to Raiden from MGS
