Hello Polycount,
My co-workers have finally convinced me to join this here forum so, Here's my latest completed work a highpoly sci fi diver, modeled in max, rendered in keyshot, post work in photoshop. Inspired by and with critique from Vitally Bulgarov.
Oh also this is my first post here so... nice to meet you

1 - So this is only hipoly, no game level resolution version?
2 - Only a bust, not the whole diver?
Reminds me of sphere, those suits were sick
Looks amazing!
I would like to see a speed vid of you modeling a portion of your hard surface models. Im pretty bad a plane modeling, and I really wanna get better.
concept?! what concept! haha this was all hard surface modeling (except for the first image below, that was quick zbrush inspiration) I of course used splines for the tubes, that's it.
Below is some progress renders. It shows alot of my thought process working through the shapes and forms as I go, keeping in mind flow and never being afraid to delete and rework large portions. I started out not even sure what I wanted to make. This was really an excersize in designing and modeling, something I thought was cool. I was going to do dom war but we'll see what happens now, but it was sort of a warm up...
I'm glad you noticed that actually, I did that un-purpose sort of.. I wanted the final image to be more then just "here's a cool model" I wanted it to look cool on my wallpaper and have a bit more mood to it. That's why I like to show the occlusion in addition to the final product. Hopefully it was somewhat successful at that.
indeed
Banner Rotation!
Love it and love the textures!
Now, where's the rest of this guy?!
A little thing is bothering me though, some parts of the helmet seem a little low poly :
Nonetheless, this is an awesome piece !!
edit: woops, didn't see the second page and the comment right above mine.
