I am wondering how to attach two static meshes, or a light to a static mesh and also a light volume. I created a lamp (static Mesh) and used a basic spot light and a light volume and I just wanted to link or attach them all together so I can easily duplicate the group and move it around my scene. I was hoping to do this so I dont have to ctrl click all three every time. I would like to be able to just grab the lamp and move it and the volume and light would follow it. I looked around but it seams like different types of objects have to be attached to each other in different ways.

They are pretty useful
Yeah it doesn't need to move so I'll use prefabs. When I created one though the prefab included a light volume and its properties got reset ( I had the color of it yellow and it defaulted back to white. In order to edit individual assets within the Prefab it says to press the lock prefab button but I don't have one in my toolbar, have they moved it, where is it? I am using the December build.
Nope that's the viewport button, it changes from perspective, front, side and top.
As for their expense? I wouldn't have thought so - though I don't know for sure - but it's never come up as a problem in production. So i guess they are alright, just depends whats in them. a lot of assets is a lot of assets no matter how you dress them up.
