I think it's probably best to hold off on gathering a list of people until the style is decided, then we can make a proper post containing all the specifics, and see who's interested then. At the moment this thread is kind of redundant isn't it? because the initial thread already has posts by anyone who's interested in taking part in this, generally speaking.
Your totally correct my man, I changed the picture and advice anyone to not write in this thread until someone decides on the style. I guess our whole project got a bit out of sync now.
I may be interested, I am currently a student who would like some pieces for my portfolio. If you need modeling, rigging or animating in 3DS max or Maya drop me a tell. My portfolio site should be up before the new year.
Hi guys, I'm really interested in a collaboration for this unofficial project!
I am a modeler and digital sculptor, so i can provide all kinds of modeling and also high resolution sculpts for normal maps, if you want you can take a look at my portfolio going: http://vimeo.com/17406165
Interested! I'm trying to get back into the habit of drawing regularly, might as well have an output like this collab since I can't really keep at purpose-less sketching for too long.
if you are going to post something showing work post it in location, location, location as I am more likely to take on people that help during the early stages of design since they will have more passion, rather than those that don't.
I honestly hope that higher authorities will rethink the whole semi anarchy thingy before this project starts. It's kinda obvious that this project needs one/several motivated leads.
I would love to be apart of something like this
Not sure how much help I'd be, studying in University at the moment so I'm still learning how things work, but I'd try my best
I'm in for concept art if you need me! Specifically best at characters and such - but maybe I can learn new things ;D
3D I can do too, but it sounds more like we are short on concept art? Well this forum is a little confusing to find conclusions in So steampunk characters? Cartoony style perhaps?
Bueno! If everything is on skype, it makes sense there's so little information in the actual forum I am kriscrashkriscrash, but you'll probably figure that out when you get my add message.
I would actually be game for this, I don't have tons of time with school work and such, I'm billyh33 on skype, At the moment, probably what I excel most at is high poly hard surface modeling, and I can't really texture shit because I have gimp and not photoshop, but I am good at making high poly hard surface models, efficient low polies, efficient unwraps and baking....eh at best I'll be honest
I realize that nothing's been done on this in a while, so I thought I'd nudge the community a bit and add my name to the list.
My name is Eliza. I'm a computer science jack-of-all-trades-- programming, scripting, 2d and 3d art. I've also worked a few years as a Quality Control lead for the game company that made Myst and Riven.
But primarily, I'm a novelist. I've been working on a steampunk fantasy for a little over a year now... and it seems to me that you guys could use a writer. So. Since I would absolutely love to see this done and not just talked about, and it's been over a month and a half since anyone posted to this section, I'm going to post some more 'concrete' ideas like an arrogant art newb and see what happens.
Well, I'm glad that the community's not dead. I've seen lots of good projects keel over. A sticky thread where posts related to the project can be cross referenced here would be nice?
Hey guys. As of 20 minutes ago, I'm brand spanking new to this site! I am keen to do any environmental and asset modelling/texturing that we'll need. I've been looking for a collab project for a long time.
I'd love to join is on this also, My current uni projects finish during May and If I don't get into a competition that I have applied for then this'd be the perfect opportunity for me to get some work done
I can rig, model, uv and animate in maya plus rough texturing using mudbox and photoshop and practising my zbrush skills.
Hey all, I am very interested to join the collaboration. I hope there is space still. My skype name is fouadk13. I am a modeler as well for environment and props. You can see my folio attached at my sig
I'm rather new to Polycount but I'd love to help with this project if you still need people. I can model and texture, but I can also offer my skills as a project manager if that is needed as well.
Heys guys, just to let you know something pretty big has come up for the summer so I won't have any time to help out but after that I can lend a hand. Good luck
Heya! I'm new here, but a collab project sounds like an awesome idea...Will be glad to participate at any point...no matter what...
Spent most of my time in 3ds max mostly modeling..would love to expand a bit..texturing will be great xD

Hopefully we will have some concept artists. We may however be running through mood boards from what i know.
Here's a couple of semi-steampunky pieces I've done-

Characters, vehicles, whatever!
If you've got a model, I'd love a rigging challenge.
