Hi all, here is my take at the M41 pulse rifle.
There are still some details missing on the high poly, some holes on he front and parts around he trigger.
The low poly sits currently at around 7700 tris and there are still some bevels to add some other to remove, but I should have something around 8000 tris in the end.

It was my first real hard surface modeling in high poly, here are some of the tricky parts, did I use the right method ? It looks good on he high poly but I don't know if it's really the way it should be done
Next update should have a finished model and some texturing.

The general rule for high poly stuff is that if it looks good, it's right. Since its just created for the purpose of baking details into the low poly, topology doesn't really matter too much.

Low Poly is done, High poly is (almost) done, I'm starting to work on the textures.
I will also probably add more details to the normal map manually in PS as I paint the textures.
