I am wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a good script for Max which would allow me to select multiple alpha cards and "paint" or generate them to a target mesh. I use to have a .mel script which would basically spawn particle all across a target mesh and then instance geometry to those particles. It was handy for doing things such as grass or feathers or fur. I don't really need anything that fancy again but a script with the ability to paint multiple alpha cards to a target mesh would be wonderful. So far all I can find is a few scatter scripts which dont allow instancing multiple geometry and have very little control of how dense to scatter the geo. Ideally it would be compatible with Max 9.
Any leads would be awesome! Thanks

Graphite modeling tools has a object paint feature, but I personally don't find it all that useful or as fully featured as Neil "soulburn" Blevins object painter script.

There's a reason the guy is a Technical Director at Pixar, he has a bunch of other tools that kick butt too, like the spline painter (which is also in GMT but crappier).
Also his CG Education section is awesome, so much cool info in one place from one guy... amazing.
I also really enjoyed his hardsurface material DVD from Gnomon... fap fap fap...
*Edit* tried it out. This thing is exactly what I wanted. Thanks a ton.
