This is an Art test that I had to do last week. This is where i got in the time frame but i'm still working on it, so comments are more than welcome. The Art Test consists on an Okami style under the ocean environment. They had no limitations on tris, texture space or anything... except for the time. This is done in 3ds max, textures in photoshop, amm... ask if you need more info. I'll upload the sketch i made to go with this. So that image is how it looks after some effects. Next image is how it looks by itself. Right now i'm working on some more things like turtles, a sting ray, maybe a blow fish... and retouch some line work. Lemme know what u guys think.

That... is in 3D? I could have sworn that it was a 2D digital painting! Pretty cool!

Yea, its 3D. Its supposed to be kinda flat shaded since its in the Okami style. But shapes and silhouettes that make the scene interesting to look at. So maybe i have to work more on the depth? I'm glad its appealing tho. Thanks for the comment!

Yeah, I think it does need more depth. Something that may help with this is the deeper/further things are from the camera, the darker they get. That, along with distortion and perhaps blur.

Yea, I thought maybe put some under water ruins... but maybe i can get away with more fish and stuff as the center of attention. maybe an erupting volcano!

hate to break it to you, but it's not in that style. One of the great things about that watercolor style is that, while there are thick outlines that help to define the material of each object, the actual detail inside the outlines is extremely minimal.

See how the outlines in the tree just give it enough information to read as bark? You have too much noise going on everywhere.
