Maybe a simple colored design or stripes to distinguish its faction would break up the green and make it feel like an RTS unit.
Also, just a little suggestion:
On your metal box on the rotating canon (forgive my lack of tank terminology), you have softened your edges. One cool trick on things like this is to harden all the edges of the box and separate each face of the box into a different UV shell (The shells must be apart by a pixel or two). When you bake hard edges like this, the nice bevels render perfectly (Try it with a simple beveled box onto a 6 sided cube). Right now, your bevels look a little soft and aren't catching the light correctly.
I mean, the end result is great, but I see a lot of areas where this could help.
That is awesome. The form and texturing is brilliant. The animation is just superb. I love the way the whole thing bounces along and the machine gun follows the turning of the turret.
great little tank! you could make a few more edges hard on it to help it feel more solid and make the shading less soft especially in the intersections of shapes.

The animation looks sweet. I love how the gun wobbles along with the turret.
What shader are you using? You mentioned it's a Max realtime preview, and the lighting/shadowing looks incredible for a RT shot.
