My first try on participating in a competition!

Challenges

* Finishing an entry for the competition
* Getting to know and to work with UDK
* Using a modular approach
* Generating Normal maps / Specular maps
* Posting progress, gathering and implementing feedback along the way

Concept

I had 3 different ideas on styles for the environment.
- Bladerunner
- Prince of Persia
- Elven city style

I am still not sure which one to choose, but seeing the progress in the other threads I need to choose sooner than later to make some progress as well. I did do some research on the Elven city style and created a moodboard using the Influence map template, which i came across in another thread (on polycount).

    So, the promised update after the weekend.

    Since i wasn't really happy with my elven-city-style concept i decided to go for the prince of persia themed setting. For now I created small moodboard.

    I'll add some sketches of some different possible layouts of the scene later this week!

    Cheers.

    I did some sketching last week, and took it to photoshop to make a silhouette of the scene. It's progressing slowly but the drawing alone is generating more ideas to fill up the scene more and make better use of the models . It still feels a bit empty, but i'll do a revision of the sketch soon.

    Since i didn't like my other sketch too much, especially considering the focus on the interesting (/foreground) part of the scene, so i did some more sketching. I have some other ideas to add to the scene, so that might follow later.
