Hello guys!
It's my first post on this forum.:)
I've started new character for my portfolio and skill up in design.
I think with your comments this character will be better.
The modeling is all and well, but why would he wear such hi-tech armor and such regular/normal boots? Doesn't make sense for a space-marine, try to make something more interesting. I like the top-part of the armor not really sure about the armor on the side of the legs, depends on what detail will go in there.

VERY quick cause immma lazy atm... but I hope it tells you what I want to tell you...
ART is very much about the SECRET CODE OF THE UNIVERSE!!!.. tadam tadam..
okok.. or maybe we should just call it rhythm like everyone else ..
It's 'the way things work'.. does Math give you a hint?
the algorithm of the universe..
well enough floaty floaty..
let's talk normal..
Music needs rhythm to work.. without that it's a mess..
Art needs rhythm to work.. without that it's a mess..
how do I get a feeling for this language u say?
easiest is to study that which speaks it the best.. the universe..
So what do we do?.. we study life.. we try and imitate life.. we try and understand the way life speaks with VISUALS what it tells us..
why does one monster look CUTE.. but the other LIKE IT WILL EAT YOU!!..
its all in the lines.. the shades.. that little bit of darker color there.. that hint of color there... that rectangle here.. or that triangle there.. and all their infinite variations..
Like the way somthing looks?.. study it.. imitate it until you UNDERSTAND it.. until you can FEEL it..
the canvas is the border of the talk you tell us... the canvas separates YOUR 'story' from the rest of the things we see..
use it to it's fullest.. EVERYTHING in this canvas COUNTS.. EVERYTHING!!...
ok ok .. but..realism you say??... . well thats easy.. 'realism' has rules.. like light..
well... thats simply a 'story' you need to learn.. we all know how to make a face look sad.. that 'story' we all know how to communicate..
Light most don't.. it takes practice.. just imitate.. soak up 'realism' from life.. the most realistic visual 'story' of all.
in the end it's all abstraction.. it's the "CONNECTIONS" that matter..
Guys!!!
You don't understand me. It isn't final model, boots I've borrowed of my old model for feeling proportions.
On the legs will be more elements of armor and futuristic boots.
I think about hands, what may be on hands?
wi_2 thanks for the paintovers, I like many of your thoughts.
And while I contemplate your comments, here's a draft face.

Why would boots change? How much better can they get.
Maybe it needs some kind of shin protection that flows into or over the boots though.
Yeh the boots are fine.. That is not the problem..
Its the fact that visually they are very unique and thus detach from the rest making them feel out of place..
--Repeat the shader somewhere else on the guy to make him feel more at home
Repeat the 'looks' of the boots somewhere else pretty much is the idea.. to
connect it more.. maybe the UUU patters of the bottom of the boots would be cool..
or the leather look maybe
Or
the other way around.. add some techy metal shapes to the boots..
either way.. I do agree they look visually detached.. but this 'detachement' is also unique detail.. which is in the end what makes awesome if balanced properly
Hello!!!
I've thought about design of helmet and understood that something isn't right.
My collegue to made little overpaint for me. I've borrowed his some thought .
This is new version of helmet.
What you say?
I like where the helmet is going, but to me the part that goes over the nose looks kinda funny. Kinda reminds me of a pig. This is just a suggestion take it or leave it, but perhaps if it was a partial like 1/4, or full face cover, maybe it could look better.
While wi_2 babbles a little on the floaty side -- his comments r correct. U've got too many shapes without connection going on. Detailing the little tech gizmos isn't going to make it any different. U really should look at the big shapes and how they start to break down, keeping "the rhythm" consistent.
I like it.
The helmet seems a bit weird, how about a bottom bit for the mask? Could possible have it split down the middle and fold away to the sides, if that make sense.

What you think about new version of helmet?
Freshness is always win. Good job on that xD
Amazing hard surface stuff.
waiting for more!!. this is going to be a fantastic model!
Hey!
Good idea!
I think about it.
I will make it on texturing stage.
Maybe you have special wish about illustration on the armor?

This drop is dedicated to long-awaited boots.
Little update...

It's final version of high poly model.
Thanks all for critic.
What you think?
Also i'm going to make render without helmet. I like how seem his face.
