so far blockout looks fine, not much we can actually critique until you actually show us the finished model. As far as finding references, have you heard of google image search?

Yeah, but none of them are close enough, I downloaded Cooliris and its helping a bit more, guess I just need to learn the names of these things and google them separately. All the google images are too far away for the level of detail I need

hmmm, usually google has some good stuff. Nonetheless you could go to a local library and find some books of WWII vehicles
