I really like it, lots of potential. Definitely digging the closed face panel and I think you're on the right track joining the head piece and the shoulder elements at the back to even out the weight distribution. I'd really emphasize the pain and discomfort with this piece - make us uncomfortable just looking at him.
Right now the only thing that I'd tweak is the casings over the hands - as they are, they look a bit like some sort of futuristic boxing mitt. I'd shackle the hands close together somehow, like handcuffs - make the pose really restrictive and uncomfortable. Maybe behind his back?
