Hey all,
Here's a few models/environments I'm working on for my portfolio. Only got 3 so far, bout to graduate this quarter so gonna need to finish them up as soon as possible.
Looking for critiques on anything and everything, especially assets you think could be added in. Concepting is not my strong point and so could use a lot of help there. I'll post them in different "replies" to this thread for the sake of orderliness. Don't wanna confuse everyone too much.
It's gonna be a fun quarter. Fun as in, hair pulling, face smashing, gouging my eyes out with LCD radiation fun. O yea.

Would feel like Tekkon Kinkreet in a sense, rundown and grungey, but not ancient and abandoned. Power lines will be added in, but as a last item. I just don't wanna mess with curves at the moment. Ewww. Not hard, just a pain in the arse. Two base textures as well, trying to do some handpainting.
Saw the Tekkon Kinkreet thread here, that scene looks tight. Gonna try to add a few more buildings to get that same compact and tight feeling. The main guy/house will have a bit more space for a backyard.
As of now, the left side of the building is basically "done" with the mid portion needing work, as well as the courtyard. No base textures for this one yet, or at least, none that I'd wanna post here but those will be getting some love soon. These ladies are more naggy than a overly clingy girlfriend. Sheesh. Or boyfriend, depending on your preference and/or gender.
haha no, those are just angles for critique.
Also, the brick texture tiling is really obvious.
paintover i've been working on. my painting skills are bleh, but practice here helps a lot with textures I've noticed. That and painting is just freaking awesome. In any case, any help would be much appreciated, jus wanna get better.
chug chug chug, the train keeps moving on
got some progress, much to do, much to do
some of the textures need more variety to it. don't want to hella grime things up, but have just enough to make it used, but not decrepit. please c&c.
Also i'm guessing everything is built to the grid? If you're gonna be putting it into the Unreal Engine, just checking.
should be finishing this one up soon, next weekish, and I'd like to have at least a small level in udk by the end of the quarter. got that city one to work on as well, but both would be relatively smaller, so it should be enough time. we shall see i suppose.
here's a small update
