This is an old pistol dating from 1887, though this version was made just before world war II. I still need to clean up some seams and add a few missing details inside the frame, but I think it's pretty much done. Crits are more than welcome!
Looks clean ans solid mesh, i like it,
Good job, but you can make your geometry better, theres some waste of polys, you used triangles in some parts where you can avoid them
Model looks bloody awesome, I really love the texturing as well, learning things just by looking at it hehe (especially hipoly wires). Real nice work, thanks for sharing
I know, but, if you make the lowpoly triangulated, wont it be triangulated again once inagme?
If game engines triangulated triangles it would continue this action for eternity. They'd be doing triangulations instead of running a game. Also triangles can't be triangulated.
with the top pictures of the gun 'snapped' ready to reload, did you make that as two separate objects so then you only had to select and rotate the chamber part?
otherwise, if it was just one object how did you rotate only one part of the gun?
I just rotated it and then exported it as a separate obj. When I was texturing this I had a mesh that was open, one that was closed, and another which was just the exploded un-mirrored baking mesh so that I could see all the parts which are currently occluded (such as the inside of the back of the frame, which is covered by the hammer).

You do realize that once in game that is going to be triangulated.
