Hi guys, I've been working on this over the last few months and can finally release it.
It's a set of video tutorials explaining how to go from a concept to a fully modelled and textured low poly model, using Photoshop, 3DS Max and Mudbox.
It's completely free of charge and can be distributed as you wish (just please give credit where due
Here is a link to the model in a 3D viewer on my site (small plugin required)

This tut id also located on my site

It was a heck of a job to get this all finalised and I'm really glad it's done
i hope it helps some of you.
Anyway here are the links...

The intro video would benefit greatly from showing more of the model while you talk. I would prefer to see it rotating around in real-time, and swapping between various versions (fully textured & lit, solid with wireframe overlay, full-bright diffuse alone, fullbright normal map alone, shaded normal mapped, etc.).
The intro has to sell me on the model, get me excited about how you did it. Right now it's not.
Design is a bit odd too, Never seen a turtle underwater with flippers sagging like this, nor shell bent way up at the neck (when he obviously can't bend his head up there).
Love the face though, great stylized look there.
Also have you thought about offering streaming vids, like Youtube or Vimeo?
It's a tutorial, so we should be hearing how you got the inspiration for this character, and how you proceed. Why do you make the decisions that you do? What thought processes are going on?
We should also see your thumbnails, silhouette sketches, your reference photos. What thinking went into this character? What's its backstory?
Thanks for your effort mrgrotey! I've been meaning to pick up on the normal mapping pipeline for a while and this will help me plenty, I think.
I have now added a link to download the reference images (in between part 2 and 3) in case you want to model it but don't want to draw the images first.
Thanks for the interest guys.
Yep exactly. Just watch the video while recording. Would take some time but would add a ton to the overall presentation.
UPDATE:
I've just added the last part after re-recording it. It's the part about texture seam removal.
Enjoy!
Cheers!!
