Hey guys, I've been looking everywhere but I can't find a definitive answer.. So I thought I'd turn to my pals at PC.

How do you get image planes into zbrush?

I've found a few basic tutorials, but they weren't very helpful. They basically showed you how to import a premade subtool with an image on it. I've tried importing an image plane from max into zbrush, but the materials wouldn't apply correctly.

Yes, I am a bit of a noob when it comes to zbrush. Any help?

I think you just export a (heavily subdivided) grid the dimensions of your image, turn on colorize and give it a Polypaint from Texture. You may have to flip the texture, which you can do in texture palette. (Change matcap to flat or basic).

Edit: Actually, I think you may be able to import a normal (2-tri) plane, and just slap a texture on that on that (Tool>TextureMap>New Txtr). You still may need to flip the texture and switch its material.

make sure that the texture is square (expand canvas) and slap it onto a plane.
