DaveLee3D.com redesign

It's not earth shattering, but I'm taking a summer design class to help me on the road to finally graduating next spring. It's a 4 week intensive, and our final assignment is to make a web site. As I already had one, I opted to redesign mine and update the content.

The old site had lots of small issues (a developer I am not), so I also wanted to keep this new version clean and as bug free as possible in the 6-day turn around time we had to finish all of this.

The current, old site:

The new design:

http://davelee3d.com/dev/index.html

NOTE: The gallery page will not function on the /dev/ directory. If you want to see the content of the gallery, look at the old version here: http://www.davelee3d.com/gallery.php

If you guys have any suggestions, that would be great. Down the road I'm planning on adding a "project breakdown" section that goes into more detail about some of the level design work I've done in the past.

Your site, looks like a 3d model shopping site. It is so busy with all these things all over the place. Took me a while to even decide what i wanted to click on.

Between the old site and the new one, nothing seems to actually have changed. You just added a fewer things here and there.

Not saying is bad, just saying u need to dumb it down so anyone can see what really matters...YOUR ART!

Thanks for your comments! It is busier than I would like. I think I'll move the facebook button to the contact page only.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that at least for now, the content is exactly the same. :) Only the design has changed.

I fixed a few errors with the gallery, cleaned up the clutter on the main page a bit, moved the Facebook button to the Contact page and fixed several other issues. The new design is now live, including the gallery:

The main issue that I haven't resolved is that clicking on an image thumbnail in the gallery brings up a full screen boxed preview instead of opening the image in a new tab like I'd like it to.
